Funky Abstract Hand-painted Ceramic Platter Signed Monk - Smaller of Two woodgrain New MexicoI don't know much about this large, decorative stoneware plate, which is the smaller of two I purchased at a nearby consignment store, but I think it is fabulous. The hand painted design really a drawing on clay reminds me of car race flags, and I interpret the image as a woman's face in profile. I think the purple, peach, and charcoal palette is pretty terrific too. The platter measures 11 3 4" in diameter and 1" tall, and is signed Monk on the back.
