In silver gilt, a blue enamel cross with a cluster smooth rays in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a superimposed eagle on a red enamelled field, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed IN FIDE SALUS, encircled by a green enamelled wreath, the reverse bears the crowned monogram of King Carol I, the cross is surmounted by a large crown, measures 43. 6 mm (w) x 65. 0 mm (h inclusive of crown suspension), maker
