From the account of the expedition to Arabia and the Middle East undertaken by the German explorer Carsten Niebuhr on behalf of Frederick V of Denmark in 1761 1767. Niebuhr was the only survivor of the journey, with his companions, including the expedition's artist, Georg Wilhelm Baurenfeind, succumbing to disease.
