Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Grand Duchy. An Officer’s 25-Year Service Cross In Gold, C.1860 United Republic of numbered 14236 reverse(Militr Dienstkreuz fr Offiziere nach 25 Dienstjahren in Gold). Instituted 30 April 1841 by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich. (1841 1872 issue). Constructed of Gold, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with ribbed borders, the obverse with a central medallion bearing a monogram of Grand Duke Paul Friedrich, the reverse with an analogous medallion bearing a number 25 in Roman numerals, unmarked, measuring 35. 23
