A round medal die struck in zink alloy, the obverse features a swastika at the bottom with a spray of laurel leaves emanating from each side, a military sword crosses the centre with two shields superimposed on it, these shields are flat topped with a pointed bottom, on the left is the Wehrmacht eagle while the other shows a the emblem of five upward pointing arrows
