with pencil (and some erasure marks) underneath

but I really really love this pig

with some paint loss--mostly to the top and side of the snout/jaw

"The First Chosen", Folk Painting of Soldier Propped Against House with Grass, Panama City, FL., 1948 vintage pinback buttons Hand-carvedAt first I thought it was a mirror rather than a painting propped up against what I presume is the house or maybe garage and that illusionism is part of what I love about this snapshot, making one want to peer into the painting to catch the reflection of the person taking the photo. But instead it is a soldier on his bed looking back at us, and two more beds behind him, creating a sort of ad infinitum sense of space, which heightens the overall
