Just a lovely smallish painting to have around

There are splits in the wood in a couple of places

Sweet Old Folk Art Hanging Mailbox with Three Leaf Clover Window phials presumed mid- to late-19th centuryI had this one in my hands for a few minutes several years ago before selling it; happily the buyer, who has changed his collecting focus since, offered it back to me and I must say when I unpacked it I fell in love with it again and found it even better than I remembered! Honest construction, clean lines, good age, quite useful, but what really makes it for me is the clover club shaped cutout, backed with glass which makes it feel a bit like a bee
