12th Century Islamic Persian Khurasan Silver Inlaid Bronze Calligraphy Inkwell Sold The chest having a hingedAn ancient Khurasan silver and copper inlaid bronze inkwell, Eastern Persia or Herat, 12th 13th century, from an important private Middle East collection. The inkwell is of cylindrical shape with a domed shaped lid with dot shaped silver and copper inlay in a stylized floral form, the lid having a knop shaped finial. Both the lid and base having engraved cartouches inlaid with silver calligraphic inscriptions. The base has corresponding stylized
